Hey folks:
In these serious times I felt compelled to use the corny joke in my header.
I want to thank everyone who’s been passing on love and information since I left NPR. It’s a journey for sure, and one with some surprising twists.
First: I’ll be on WNYC’s The Takeaway for the first three weeks of March. I’m looking forward to getting into their news mix. Check to see what time The Takeaway is on in your area, or podcast or stream the show. More at http://www.thetakeaway.org/.
I’m blogging for PopandPolitics.com when I can, and also working on some new projects I can tell you about soon.
My novel Kiss the Sky comes out in May. More soon on tour dates.
And I feel lucky.
At this uncertain time in the economy, being a multi-media journalist who knows how to freelance; has worked in companies but never been a “company woman”; doesn’t take success for granted; and, for better AND worse, only has to take care of myself financially gives me a freedom to experiment with what my next steps are and where I can look for opportunity. Media is one of the crash-and-burn industries right now, but I believe it will enter a Phoenix stage. We will rebuild it, those of us who have heart, ideas, and connections.
On that note: I will keep updating what’s what… Please use this site to update me on your info so we can hang out on my book tour and lecture tours.
You can also follow me on twitter (my new compulsion) @faraichideya. Or just check my tweets on the homepage.
Keep your head up.
Peace,
F
